Peninsula Snapper Challenge Entrants pack 2020.
Welcome to the 2020 Peninsula Snapper Challenge, Port Phillip Bay and Westernport’s premier fishing event. The organisers want you to get out have fun and fish as much as you can from the opening on Saturday 21st November through to closing on Sunday 29th. When the fishing is all done, the winners will be announced and the lucky draw prize winners will be announced via Facebook and our website. Remember that these lucky draw prizes are shared equally amongst entrants, whether you catch a big snapper, a pinky snapper or nothing at all as it is all about being part of the Challenge with family or mates.
Fishing in the Peninsula Snapper Challenge commences at 12.01am on Saturday 21st November and you can fish both Port Phillip Bay and Westernport. After you catch a snapper please enter the fish using a photo of the fish taken on your mobile phone and sent to Challenge HQ via SMS.
The Snapper must be placed on a measuring device that is mounted on a flat, rigid surface.
The entire fish from nose to tail, daily entry code word and fish length must be clearly visible in the photograph. Please see the example below;
Tips to help your entry photographs;
Clean the lens on the phone before you take the photo.
Make sure that the entire fish from nose to the tip of the upper tail fin can be clearly seen on the ruler.
The daily code word can be seen on the fish.
Before you send the photo, have a close look at it and put yourself in the judge’s position. Can they judge your picture and see the exact length of your fish easily? If not take the photo again.
Ineligible photos will not be considered & you will not be notified if your photo is excluded.
There will be a new code word sent to the registered competition mobile phone number each day. The code word will posted on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Peninsulasnapperchallenge
Images that do not meet these requirements will not be considered for entry.
The text box of the photo is to include your name and fish length, eg John Smith 85cm.
The judging length is from the fish nose to the tip of the upper tail fin.
In the Open, Kayak and Junior Division trophies will be awarded for the 1st, 2nd & 3rd longest snapper submitted.
A Spotters pack consisting of a pair of Spotters sunglasses, cap & shade will be awarded to the five longest snapper submitted across all three divisions.
Entrants can upsize their entries throughout the Challenge by sending another photo as described with no limit to the number of entered fish.
