Spotters Peninsula Snapper Challenge Entrants pack 2024.
Welcome to the 2024 Peninsula Snapper Challenge, Port Phillip Bay and Westernport’s premier fishing event. The organisers want you to get out have fun and fish as much as you can from the opening on Saturday 2nd November 2024 through to closing at noon on Sunday 10th November 2024.
When the fishing is all done please come along to our presentation event at the Frankston Bombers Football & Netball Club on Sunday 10th November 2024 from 2.00pm where our Champion Anglers, Spotters Top Ten, Compleat Angler Dandenong Bay prizes & random draw winners will be announced.
Remember that these lucky draw prizes are shared equally amongst entrants, whether you catch a big snapper, a pinky snapper or nothing at all as it is all about being part of the Challenge with family or mates.
The Fishing;
Fishing in the Peninsula Snapper Challenge commences at 12.01am on Saturday 2nd November 2024 and you can fish both Port Phillip Bay and Westernport. After you catch a snapper please enter the fish using a photo of the fish taken on your mobile phone and sent to Challenge HQ via SMS.
The Snapper must be placed on a measuring device that is mounted on a flat, rigid surface.
The entire fish from nose to tail, daily entry code word and fish length must be clearly visible in the photograph. The daily code word will be sent each competition day to the mobile registered with your entry & will also appear on our Facebook daily.
Photo entries close at 11.59am on Sunday 10th November 2024.

The name of the entrant, where caught and length should also be included in the photo. It makes judging so much easier for the judges.
Tips to help your entry photographs:

Clean the lens on the phone before you take the photo.

Make sure that the entire fish from nose to the tip of the upper tail fin can be clearly seen on the ruler.

Your brag mat should be perfectly flat with no wrinkles or ridges.

The daily code word can be seen on the fish.

Before you send the photo, have a close look at it and put yourself in the judges position. Can they judge your picture and see the exact length of your fish easily. If not take the photo again.

Entrants will receive a return text message to acknowledge the entry photo being received.

Only one photo per text message please.

Ineligible photos will not be considered & you will not be notified if your photo is excluded.

There will be a new code word sent to the registered competition mobile phone number each day.

Images that do not meet these requirements will not be considered for entry.

The text box of the photo is to include your name, fish length and which bay the fish was caught PPB or WP, eg John Smith 85cm PPB

The judging length is from the fish nose to the tip of the upper tail fin.

In the Open and Junior Division trophies will be awarded for the 1st, 2nd & 3rd longest snapper submitted.

A Spotters pack consisting of a pair of Spotters sunglasses & merchandise will be awarded to the ten longest snapper submitted across both divisions.

Entrants can upsize their entries throughout the Challenge by sending another photo as described with no limit to the number of entered fish.

Photos sent to an incorrect number will not be considered as eligible.

From 2.00pm on Sunday 10th November 2024
The Football Club Pavilion has toilets, seating, hot food, drinks and plenty of covered area to keep everyone comfortable and out of the weather. Bring along family and friends to enjoy the afternoon and see the prize and trophy presentation.
